Eric Barrier (Eric B.) and William Griffin (Rakim), were a hip-hop duo known as Eric B. & Rakim. The duo popularized the jazz-influenced hip-hop of the late 1980s. Despite spawning no major chart hits, the pair is generally considered to be one of the most influential and groundbreaking groups in the history of hip hop, due to both Eric B.'s jazzy production and Rakim's revolutionary rhyming style, which was smooth, seemingly effortless, and used remarkably complex rhyming schemes involving internal rhymes and sophisticated metaphors. It is the general consensus that almost all modern MCs have been influenced in some way by Rakim's rhyming technique. Eric B.'s use of a James Brown sample in "I Know You Got Soul" introduced the godfather period of extensive use of old R&B and soul music as background music for hip hop songs.

I'm glad you're home
Now did you really miss me
I guess you did by the look in your eyes (look in your eyes, look in your eyes)
Well lay back and relax while I put away the dishes (put away the dishes)
Then you and me can rock-a-bye

You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell

The night is young and full of possibilities
Well come on and let yourself be free
My love for you, so long than I've been savin'
Tonight was made for me and you

You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell
You can ring my be-e-ell, ring my bell

you can ring my bell, you can ring my bell
(ding, dong, ding, do-ong)
you can ring my bell, you can ring my bell
(ding, dong, ding, do-ong, ring it!)
you can ring my bell, anytime, anyway
(ring it, ring it, ring it, ring it oww!)
you can ring my bell, anytime, anyway
(ding, dong, ding, do-ong)

you can ring my bell, you can ring my bell
(ding, dong, ding, do-ong)
you can ring my bell, you can ring my bell

its really cool, and is da best eva, 80s disco

After several enquiries about the 'Rave' remix of the Who theme that was available for download on Oddsprite's website a while back, I have decided to produce a new version. I feel that the original 'Rave' remix doesn't quite sufficiently demonstrate my music ability (ie I find it embarassing to listen to!). This new version called 'Doctor Who Forever' is designed to be a dance remix with emotion. I hit on a fusion of Derbishire and McCulloch. Using a McCulloch style bassline gave the remix more pace and the Derbishire melody adds plenty of atmosphere. I also added a howell style sound to the main melody line and the harmony line from Cold Blood makes a return with a phasor filter on it, however this time it plays the harmonies from my epic remix throughout rather than just bridge sections. Also this element has a stereo echo added to give depth. The drum track was added and 'stereo split'. I recorded all the tracks using cubasis. Feedback appreciated. Oddsprite
